Reading Buddies

Reading Buddies pairs young readers in Grades 2‑4 with enthusiastic volunteer “big buddies” for a one‑hour literacy session that blends guided reading with fun conversation. The program, hosted in the Britannia Branch’s children’s area, helps develop fluency, confidence, and a love of books among local kids while fostering community mentorship. All participants receive free materials and a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere in the heart of Vancouver’s Britannia Centre.
